About the course

This course examines how art therapists initiate and sustain treatment, from first contact through crisis response. You'll work through intake and evaluation, the therapeutic relationship and the frame that holds it, DSM literacy for art therapists, and crisis intervention and referral — the clinical territory the ATCBE draws on most heavily. Each module pairs concise instruction with resources, printable flashcards, and a quiz, and the course closes with review, full practice tests, and a course evaluation. Cultural humility and ethical boundaries are treated as integral to sound facilitation rather than as separate topics.
